Pomegranate Marinade for Grilled Steak

Pomegranate juice, like red wine, has tannins, which are acidic and help tenderize meat. And that’s one reason why pomegranate juice makes a fabulous marinade for grilled steak! This recipe is a classic with a Red Crown twist.

Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound skirt steak
  • ¾ cup Red Crown Pomegranate Juice (Original or With Pulp)
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon rosemary

Instructions

  • Whisk all ingredients together in small bowl. Place the skirt steak in a sealable plastic bag or air-tight container, followed by marinade.
  • Seal the bag tightly, squeezing out as much air as possible. Gently knead the bag to ensure steak is well-coated by marinade.
  • Place in the fridge to marinate at least 30 minutes, ideally between 6-20 hours.
  • Remove steak from bag and place on platter to bring to room temperature. Grill and serve to your liking.
