Pomegranate Ginger Bourbon Cocktail

A new fashioned old fashioned. Classic bourbon and bitters get dressed up with spicy (freshly made) ginger syrup and tangy pomegranate juice.


  • 1 oz. ginger syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 ½ oz. Red Crown Pomegranate Juice (Original or With Pulp)
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • squeeze of lime

Ginger Syrup:

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger root


For Cocktail:

  • Combine ginger syrup, pomegranate juice, bourbon, bitter and lime over ice in shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into highball glass filled with crushed ice.

For Ginger Syrup:

  • Make the syrup by combining sugar, water and grated ginger in small saucepan. Bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and let cool.
